Affiliate Network – Not Leaving Things To Chance

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

There is a notion floating around that a beginner cannot be successful with an affiliate network. I suppose that this comes in part because newcomers to affiliate marketing often knew nothing about this form of marketing prior to joining their respective affiliate network. The truth is that if a new affiliate is willing to learn wrong from right, they have a stellar opportunity to do very well.

Nonetheless, I am not trying to give you the impression that there is not work involved. You will have to become educated as to what you should do, and what you should always avoid when it comes to affiliate marketing. In other words, there is a right way to go about things, and a wrong way.

You really have to understand the allure behind affiliate marketing to understand why it is gaining such immense popularity. Any individual can simply join an affiliate network, and gain instant access to product which they can sell and generate an income with. Furthermore, this individual does not have the normal hassles of business, such as customer service, product fulfillment, accounting, etc. The only requirement of the affiliate, is to market the product. It is as simple as that.

In fact, many people liken affiliate marketing to a partnership. One can argue that this is a fairly accurate depiction due to the fact that both parties, being the affiliate and product owner, are going to benefit from the relationship. The product owner no longer has to wonder if their aggressive marketing campaign is going to pay off, and you, the affiliate, get paid for every sale.

With all of this, many affiliates still approach matters from the wrong angle. For instance, have you ever visited a website and been bombarded by twenty banner ads trying to pull you in twenty different directions? How did that make you feel? Were you able to go straight for the product which you were looking for by clicking on the relevant banner? Probably not. I am sure that the banners just served as a source of utter confusion, and you left the website. Unfortunately, many affiliates attempt to maximize sales by using such an approach. This is the wrong angle to take.

A much better approach is to select three products which target the same niche market. Thereafter, write a review comparing and contrasting the three products, and come up with your conclusion, and rationale as to which product is best. In fact, you can rate them one, two, and three, listing the pros and cons of each.

When it comes down to it, affiliate network marketing for beginners is not very difficult to capitalize on, especially if you have the right attitude, and are willing to learn the what works, and what should be avoided.

Do not worry just because you are new to an Affiliate Network. Doing well with Affiliate Programs is entirely your decision, and has nothing to do with luck. Drop by and check us out at SOSComplete.com

Affiliate Programs – Profits Jump With Press Releases

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

One of the most highly recommended ways of increasing your sales in any affiliate program or affiliate network, is to do something different, and tell everyone that you did it. Think outside of the box, and do what others are not doing.

A normal misnomer within the minds of many affiliates is that they can only market the materials which are provided by the owner of the product which they are promoting. While a product owner may have some stipulations regarding marketing, for the most part, alternative methods of affiliate marketing are accepted. With this in mind, I am going to show you how you can operate outside of the box while promoting any affiliate program.

The number one thing that you can do to attract more customers is to create something of value, and give it away for free. This something of value can be a free report. I am sure that some of your are disappointed because developing a free report will require some time and effort. However, you need to think long-term. Once you create the report, you have it at your disposal to use over and over again. The simplest way to write a free report is to focus on a basic list of between 6 to 8 tips, and provide information on each one. If I were an affiliate promoting a book on interviewing tactics, I would write, “6 Things You Should Never Say In An Interview”. Then I would advertise the report to lead the reader to click my affiliate link, and get drawn in by the sales page.

Thereafter, you will want to get the visitor’s e-mail address. There are two ways to do this. One way is to require that the visitor enter their name and e-mail address so that you can e-mail the free report to them. The other way is to require that the visitor subscribe to your newsletter prior to downloading the free report. One way or the other, you capture the individual’s e-mail address, and are able to contact them in the future with additional offers.

Finally, let people know about your report using a press release. Press releases are very straight forward. Essentially, you need to cover, “Who, what, when, where, why, and how.” You need to write to:

1) The person “who” benefits (ie. the buyer).

2) What the information is (ie. the free report).

3) When the information is available (ie. now).

4. “Where” the reader can find the information.

5. “Why” the report was written.

6) How (ie. how the report provides benefits to the reader).

Yes, I know that taking these steps will take some time and effort, but I am telling you that it is well worth it. Just remember that with affiliate programs and affiliate networks, you get back what you put in. This holds true for any method of making money online. There is no such thing as passive income. If you put in the work, you will be rewarded.

Affiliate Programs – Ten Steps to Payday

Monday, April 5th, 2010

1. Become a known figure in each and every chat room which is within your niche market. Meet new people, ask them questions, and get to know them. Just make sure that you do not try and sell your offers to them right away. Once you have gained some trust, you can mention your offers in passing. If they are interested, continue further.

2. Put an eBook together which you offer to your website visitors for free once they subscribe to your opt-in list. Within the eBook, do not oversell what you are promoting, however, do not shy away from promoting what you offer either. Just remember that the most important thing here is to capture the website visitor’s email address.

3. There are directories for affiliate programs all over the Internet. Why not start an affiliate program directory of your own? The key to doing this, is that you now have control of how prevalent your affiliate programs appear in the directory.

4. Be creative when it comes to your affiliate offers. Remember that you are trying to stand out from the crowd. If you are able to offer something more compelling for the same offer, chances are that you will give yourself the advantage over your competitors.

5. Everyone likes to see a testimonial. So long as you have actually utilized what it is that you are promoting, you can tell people all of the positive results which you have experienced.

6. Get your content on the Internet. One of the best ways to do this is by writing articles, and adding them to article directories. This is one of the best ways to gain the respect of those in your niche market. You are able to add a link back to your website in the author resource box. Take advantage of this, and get people to visit your website through this resource box.

7. Join a web ring. It should attract the same type of people that would be interested in buying the product you’re reselling. You could also trade links on your own with other related websites.

8. Participate on web discussion boards. Post your comments, answer other people’s questions, and ask your own questions. Include your affiliate text link under each message you post.

9. Create a free ezine. Use your ezine to advertise the affiliate programs you have joined. Submit your ezine to online ezine directories and promote it on your website.

10. Develop a social networking website for people in the niche market of your offers. Once a person purchases one of your offers, you can grant a free membership to them. Alternatively, you can give memberships to individuals from free, and advertise the affiliate programs which you are promoting the the members

Affiliate Network – Mistakes That Affiliates Make

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Great, you have joined an affiliate network, and you are ready to do whatever it takes to make enough money to quit your nine to five job. You have carefully selected which products you would like to promote, and now you are going to put them all over the Internet so that people will buy them and you can earn your commission. All you have to do is sit back and wait for you payment to arrive. Sounds good, right?

Before you break ground on that big mansion on the hill, here are a few mistakes many new affiliate marketers make that you will want to avoid.

1. Falling for the immense build up.

Those income projections that every program makes are just that, projections. You can make that much. Will you within your first few months of the program? Probably not. Look at this as a long-term investment in your future, not a way to get rich quick. Believe in yourself and your ability to make your dreams come true. However, do not believe the hype.

2. Expecting instant results with little effort.

You will not be able to sit on a beach and sip margaritas while your online business constantly refills your bank account with Internet money. Just think if you were to open a traditional brick and mortar business. What would you need to do? Well, assuming that you are ready for business, you will first need to alert the market that your business exists. Hence, you will need to advertise. Then, once you have customers, you need to service these customers in order to generate an income. In this sense, affiliate marketing is exactly the same. You are opening a brand spanking new online business. How are you going to let people know that your business exists? You are going to have to market. This is why it is called “affiliate marketing”.

3. Lack of a plan and specific goals.

People who engage in online business do not seem to realize how important planning and goal setting are. It is important to know what you are working towards, and what you need to do to get there. So many people know that they want to make money. Okay, that is easy. Then to make money, they join an affiliate network. However, they do not define how much money they want to make. Furthermore, they do not set realistic time periods within with they will strive to make this sum of money. However, if they do know how much money they want to make, and when they want to make it, they usually fail to account for exactly what needs to be done to make their dreams a reality. In order to be successful, you need to know how much money you want to make, how long it will realistically take to get there, and what you need to do each and every day to achieve this goal.

4. Advertising the sales page which is given to you via your affiliate link.

Wait a minute, if you don’t advertise your affiliate link, how are you supposed to get sales? Create your own website that has a link to your affiliate programs. Every affiliate for your program gets the same website that you do. You have to be able to make yourself different from everyone else. The way you do that is with your own website.

5. Quitting

I can understand that if several months have gone by, and you are not making the money that you had anticipated making at that stage how you may be disappointing. Do you think that quitting is really the answer? What are you going to do instead? Rather than simply throwing in the towel, you need to figure out how to become a better affiliate. Educate yourself. Learn what the most successful affiliates are doing, then copy it. Success is not achieved by those who quit. Are you aware of the fact that Danny DeVito went on 104 auditions before getting his first acting role? He could have quit after 30 auditions. He could have quit after 80 auditions. However, he did not know the meaning of quit, and look at him now. You need to learn something from that type of individual. When you are ready to give up, don’t give up because success in right around the corner. Remember this the next time that you log into your affiliate network.

Affiliate Programs – Ten Steps To Make More Money

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

1. Participate in chat rooms related to the product you’re reselling. Start a conversation with a person without trying to sell to them. Later on, while you are chatting, mention the product you’re reselling.

2. Put a free eBook together which is full of valuable information, relevant to your niche. Make sure that you include a link to your affiliate website on the cover. The content of the eBook should attract the attention to your niche market.

3. Create a directory of your own for affiliate programs. Become a member of an affiliate network, and list a substantial amount of affiliate programs in a directory layout on your web page. Thereafter, you can advertise your site as a free directory for affiliate programs.

4. Write your own affiliate program ads. If all the other affiliates use the same ads you do, that does not give you an edge over your competition. Use a different ad to give yourself an advantage over all the other affiliates.

5. Give a product which you are promoting your personal endorsement. Of course, you can only do this if you have actually used the product or service which you are promoting. Give your opinion on three or four similar products which you are promoting, and rank them from best to average.

6. Promote your affiliate products with article marketing. Write on a topic relevant to your niche, and include a link to the product in the author resource box of the article. Make sure that you give your readers a compelling reason to visit your website by writing a compelling article. Keep your author resource box relatively short. Less than five lines is best.

7. Join co-ops with complementary websites. The key is not to focus on websites which are not in direct competition. Rather, focus on websites which can result in a mutually beneficial relationship. This is a great opportunity to get in front of your targeted market at no cost. For instance, you can trade banner ad space with other relevant websites.

8. Get involved on forums. Providing answers to questions posed will boost your reputation. This will lead to you becoming an expert in the area of the forum. Make sure that you include a link to your website in the signature of your posts.

9. Write an ezine and give it away for free. Of course, the ezines should be relevant to each product which you are promoting. You can even use the ezine to build your email list be requiring that it be delivered by email. Your visitors will have to provide you with their email address in order to receive the free ezine.

10. Start a private website. Use it as a free bonus if people buy the product you resell. You could also allow people to join for free and you could advertise the affiliate programs you have joined.
