Affiliate Programs – Making Things Easier

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

One of the best methods of producing a steady income is by becoming involved in affiliate programs. The major benefit of affiliate programs is that they only require that you market products or services, and receive payment upon each sale. In other words, someone else owns the product or service, and you get paid a commission on each sale which you produce. Not a bad set up if you ask me.

We will list of most significant benefits which affiliate marketers have over online business owners below:

1. A Product of Your Own is Not Required.

It used to be that in order to make money online, you needed to own a product or service. Affiliate programs have changed this requirement by removing the ownership requirement. Today, all that you need to do is direct potential customers to the product or service owner’s website, and collect a commission upon each sale. You do not have to waste time on shipping the product, or managing its inventory. This is someone else’s responsibility.

2. You Need Not Manage Any Inventory.

One of the biggest time consumers to an e-commerce website owner are logistics. With e-commerce, not only is the owner responsible for shipping, but they also are responsible for making sure that they have a product to ship. This is a burden. The good news is that with affiliate programs, this is a burden is not your responsibility.

3. No Complaining Customers to Deal With.

No one likes to have to face an unhappy customer. Even if your customer is not unhappy, they may have a lot of questions which need to be answered in a timely fashion. The fact of the matter is that customer service is very time consuming. However, it is a very important aspect which every e-commerce website owner has to deal with efficiently, or risk going out of business. Fortunately for affiliate marketers, customer service is not on the to-do list. This is someone else’s headache.

4. The Task of The Affiliate Marketer is to Make Sales.

The conventional online store owner has so many tasks which they need to stay on top of. In addition to marketing, the conventional owner is in charge of customers, inventory, returns, and anything else related to running a business. Conversely, the promotion of affiliate programs has its focus firmly set on marketing. Not only is this less time consuming, but also less stressful.

Affiliate Network – Not Leaving Things To Chance

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

There is a notion floating around that a beginner cannot be successful with an affiliate network. I suppose that this comes in part because newcomers to affiliate marketing often knew nothing about this form of marketing prior to joining their respective affiliate network. The truth is that if a new affiliate is willing to learn wrong from right, they have a stellar opportunity to do very well.

Nonetheless, I am not trying to give you the impression that there is not work involved. You will have to become educated as to what you should do, and what you should always avoid when it comes to affiliate marketing. In other words, there is a right way to go about things, and a wrong way.

You really have to understand the allure behind affiliate marketing to understand why it is gaining such immense popularity. Any individual can simply join an affiliate network, and gain instant access to product which they can sell and generate an income with. Furthermore, this individual does not have the normal hassles of business, such as customer service, product fulfillment, accounting, etc. The only requirement of the affiliate, is to market the product. It is as simple as that.

In fact, many people liken affiliate marketing to a partnership. One can argue that this is a fairly accurate depiction due to the fact that both parties, being the affiliate and product owner, are going to benefit from the relationship. The product owner no longer has to wonder if their aggressive marketing campaign is going to pay off, and you, the affiliate, get paid for every sale.

With all of this, many affiliates still approach matters from the wrong angle. For instance, have you ever visited a website and been bombarded by twenty banner ads trying to pull you in twenty different directions? How did that make you feel? Were you able to go straight for the product which you were looking for by clicking on the relevant banner? Probably not. I am sure that the banners just served as a source of utter confusion, and you left the website. Unfortunately, many affiliates attempt to maximize sales by using such an approach. This is the wrong angle to take.

A much better approach is to select three products which target the same niche market. Thereafter, write a review comparing and contrasting the three products, and come up with your conclusion, and rationale as to which product is best. In fact, you can rate them one, two, and three, listing the pros and cons of each.

When it comes down to it, affiliate network marketing for beginners is not very difficult to capitalize on, especially if you have the right attitude, and are willing to learn the what works, and what should be avoided.

Do not worry just because you are new to an Affiliate Network. Doing well with Affiliate Programs is entirely your decision, and has nothing to do with luck. Drop by and check us out at SOSComplete.com

If You Blog Affiliate Networks Are Your Best Friend

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Blogging is a great hobby for some, but did you know that there are those who earn a full-time income as bloggers? One method of doing this is by selling advertising on your blog. However, it has been show that affiliate programs generate the greatest amount of income for the typical blogger. With this in mind, every present and future blogger should look at joining an affiliate network. By joining an affiliate network, you will be able to choose which products you would like to promote on your blog.

In the event that you are unclear of what an affiliate program or affiliate network is, I will provide some background. An affiliate program is one in which the seller of the product agrees to pay individuals who sell the product on behalf of the seller a commission. Thus, the individuals who agree to sell for a commission are called affiliates. An affiliate networks is a compilation of several affiliate programs posted by numerous product sellers. Thus, affiliates can find products to promote on an affiliate network.

You can join an affiliate network, and thus become an affiliate, simply by signing up. Doing so is almost always free. The nice thing about affiliate networks is not only that you will be able to search through and find the best products to promote, but that the network tracks your sales, and ensures that you are paid the commission that you deserve.

Your blog is the engine which markets your product. A common method of marketing affiliate products via a blog is by writing a review of the product, and then providing your affiliate link on your blog page. The method which I most prefer however is promoting several related affiliate products and ranking these products.

Now that you have chosen the products which you plan to promote with your blog, you have to place the focus on the reader, and how the product which you are promoting can benefit your reader. One thing that you should know is that readers get turned off and stop reading if they think you are only trying to sell them something. The key to avoiding the perception that you are merely trying to sell your products is by providing useful information on your blog. If you do this, you will become a trusted resource in your niche, and your product recommendation will also be trusted.

The good news is that you can blog for fun, and make a profit as well. Affiliate networks are a great way to profit from your blog due to the fact that the sheer volume of products on an affiliate network makes it easy to find a product which fits within the theme of your blog. Once your selected products are posted on your blog, they should be ancillary to the information which your reader is being provided by your blog. If you follow the suggestions of this article, and keep working hard, you can turn your blog into a full-time venture which generates full-time money.

Affiliate Programs – Profits Jump With Press Releases

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

One of the most highly recommended ways of increasing your sales in any affiliate program or affiliate network, is to do something different, and tell everyone that you did it. Think outside of the box, and do what others are not doing.

A normal misnomer within the minds of many affiliates is that they can only market the materials which are provided by the owner of the product which they are promoting. While a product owner may have some stipulations regarding marketing, for the most part, alternative methods of affiliate marketing are accepted. With this in mind, I am going to show you how you can operate outside of the box while promoting any affiliate program.

The number one thing that you can do to attract more customers is to create something of value, and give it away for free. This something of value can be a free report. I am sure that some of your are disappointed because developing a free report will require some time and effort. However, you need to think long-term. Once you create the report, you have it at your disposal to use over and over again. The simplest way to write a free report is to focus on a basic list of between 6 to 8 tips, and provide information on each one. If I were an affiliate promoting a book on interviewing tactics, I would write, “6 Things You Should Never Say In An Interview”. Then I would advertise the report to lead the reader to click my affiliate link, and get drawn in by the sales page.

Thereafter, you will want to get the visitor’s e-mail address. There are two ways to do this. One way is to require that the visitor enter their name and e-mail address so that you can e-mail the free report to them. The other way is to require that the visitor subscribe to your newsletter prior to downloading the free report. One way or the other, you capture the individual’s e-mail address, and are able to contact them in the future with additional offers.

Finally, let people know about your report using a press release. Press releases are very straight forward. Essentially, you need to cover, “Who, what, when, where, why, and how.” You need to write to:

1) The person “who” benefits (ie. the buyer).

2) What the information is (ie. the free report).

3) When the information is available (ie. now).

4. “Where” the reader can find the information.

5. “Why” the report was written.

6) How (ie. how the report provides benefits to the reader).

Yes, I know that taking these steps will take some time and effort, but I am telling you that it is well worth it. Just remember that with affiliate programs and affiliate networks, you get back what you put in. This holds true for any method of making money online. There is no such thing as passive income. If you put in the work, you will be rewarded.

Come and see us at the SOSComplete! affiliate network, and find the right affiliate programs for you.
